FPT successfully supplied Fibrecrete to repair defects in the concrete ramps at the airport in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The project, which was awarded 'Excellence in Paving' by Utah Chapter, ACPA & UDOT, was completed within an extremely short time frame of 32 days (8 less than scheduled) and during harsh winter months of snow and ice. A prerequisite of the contract meant one entrance ramp to the airport was kept open at all times with work done overnight between 8 p.m.-5 a.m.
Fibrecrete is a hot-applied flexible concrete repair. It is formulated with polymer modified resins, fiberglass, mineral fillers, and high-quality aggregates. Fibrecrete was used to replace a cementitious material which failed due to its stiffness. Fibrecrete is a load transferring repair that has superior tensile strength and flexibility in comparison to rigid repairs.
